Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party, recently asserted that President Bola Tinubu has essentially ensured his own political failure before the 2027 election cycle begins. During an appearance on the Channels Television program Sunday Politics, Adebayo characterized the current administration as a lame-duck government simply finishing out its remaining term.
Adebayo argued that the government has been unable to resolve critical national issues such as widespread poverty, persistent insecurity, and ineffective governance. In his view, these failures have rendered the administration’s tenure largely unproductive. He encouraged citizens to prioritize substantive national problems over political figures as the election season approaches.
Regarding his own political strategy, Adebayo stated that his focus remains on national unity rather than building an opposition alliance. He concluded that the final result of the 2027 polls will hinge entirely on how much faith voters place in the electoral system and their level of turnout.
