Mohamed Salah Becomes Africa’s All-Time Leading Scorer in the Champions League
Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is now the highest-ever African goal scorer in the Champions League, with 45 goals.
The 32-year-old Egyptian forward netted a goal in the 75th minute during Liverpool’s victory over Bologna on Wednesday, September 2.
Salah’s milestone goal was significant, contributing to Liverpool’s crucial win in their latest group-stage match.
With this goal, Salah surpasses Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba, who has 44 goals, and Cameroon icon Samuel Eto’o, who holds third place with 35 goals.
Salah also set additional records, becoming the first Liverpool player to score in five consecutive Champions League matches at Anfield and the first player to both score and assist in nine Champions League games for an English club.
