Two Nigerian Men to Stand Trial in Ghana for Alleged Homicide of Countryman

Two Nigerian nationals face murder charges in Ghana after a dispute over alleged online fraud proceeds ended in the death of a fellow countryman in Tamale.

Daniel Victor Eze and David Oko Ewa are set to be prosecuted in Ghana for the killing of Nkemujika Uzorchuku Eze. Authorities report the 36-year-old was murdered in his Tamale residence at Sanzirigu following a disagreement regarding profits from internet-based fraud.

Police arrived at the scene to find the victim unresponsive in his bedroom with a severe forehead injury and a towel lodged in his throat. Investigators recovered a wooden pestle near the scene, which they believe was used in the assault. Medical personnel at the Tamale Teaching Hospital officially pronounced the man dead.

The suspects were apprehended by the Northern Regional Police Command near the border of Ghana and Togo as they attempted to leave the country. Upon questioning, the pair reportedly admitted to the killing, alleging that the victim kept money intended to be shared among the group. Authorities recovered various stolen electronics, jewelry, and documents from the men at the time of their capture. The suspects remain detained as the police prepare for formal court proceedings.
