Military Captures Four Suspects in Connection with Plateau Attack

Military personnel have detained four suspects in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area following the recent attack on Kumm Village in Plateau State.

Soldiers from Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace, have taken four individuals into custody following an investigation into the recent violence in Kumm Village, located within the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. Information regarding these arrests was provided by Zagazola Makama, a security analyst specializing in counter-insurgency.

The military action took place at 11:30 am on July 12. This operation was a direct response to the July 11 assault on the community. Troops performed a targeted search within the Luggere Fulani hamlets of the adjacent Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, resulting in the capture of the four men.

The individuals held by authorities are 27-year-old Abbas Musa, 56-year-old Haruna Jibrin, 22-year-old Hassan Ibrahim, and 50-year-old Isah Aliyu. Current procedures involve preliminary questioning to assess their connection to the Kumm Village incident and broader criminal activity in the region. Meanwhile, security forces remain active in the Riyom–Barkin Ladi corridor, utilizing intelligence-driven operations to track down remaining suspects and secure the area against future threats.
