A resident of Owaelu, located in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, is accused of murdering his wife and subsequently disappearing with two of their children. On Monday morning, local residents found the victim’s body inside a church compound, while their youngest infant had been left behind alone.
An anonymous local witness indicated that the couple experienced frequent disputes leading up to this event, which has created significant distress within the community. DSP Henry Okoye, the Police Public Relations Officer for Imo State, confirmed that law enforcement has initiated an investigation.
According to Okoye, the Owerri North Divisional Police Officer inspected the site shortly after the discovery. Authorities have placed the rescued infant in the care of a family relative and are currently searching for the suspect in order to recover the two missing children.
