Imo Police Save Kidnap Victim During Forest Sweep

Imo State police successfully rescued an injured kidnapping victim from a forest hideout in Owerri West following a targeted operation led by the Commissioner of Police.

Security forces in Imo state successfully freed a captive held in a wooded area spanning the Nekede, Ihiagwa, and Agbala regions of Owerri West. This mission was part of a larger initiative to remove criminals and stabilize the region.

DSP Henry Okoye, the state police spokesperson, confirmed that Commissioner of Police Audu Bosso directed the raid on Saturday. The effort included collaboration with local vigilante groups, following instructions issued by the Inspector-General of Police.

During the rescue, officers found the victim, identified as Chinonaobi Uchegbulam from Ubaha Orodo, who had sustained injuries. He was rushed to a hospital and is currently showing signs of recovery. Commissioner Bosso praised the team for their bravery and professional conduct throughout the encounter.
