Retired Argentine forward Maxi Lopez has issued a direct warning to online streamer iShowSpeed, advising him to stay away from Argentina’s upcoming 2026 semi-final clash against England in Atlanta on July 15. The YouTuber had attended Argentina’s quarter-final match against Switzerland, hoping to bring bad luck to the team after Portugal was knocked out by Spain.
During that match, Alexis Mac Allister scored early for Argentina, but Dan Ndoye leveled the score in the second half. Although Switzerland’s Breel Embolo was sent off late in the game, the match went into extra time, where Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez secured the victory for Argentina. Following the game, Lopez sent a message to the creator via PaseClave, stating that if he wears the Argentina shirt again, there would be physical consequences.
This match represented the second time in three knockout games that Lionel Messi’s squad played into extra time. They previously defeated Cabo Verde 3-2 after going the distance in the Round of 32. Earlier, the team also overcame a late deficit to beat Egypt 3-2 in the Round of 16, thanks to a 93rd-minute goal from Enzo Fernandez.
