Kano Authorities Apprehend Suspect for Tricycle Robbery

Usman Sulaiman was taken into custody by the Kano State Anti-Phone Snatching Force for allegedly robbing a tricycle driver, an act he blamed on drug use.

A resident of Dorayi Quarters, Usman Sulaiman, is in custody after the Kano State Anti-Phone Snatching Force arrested him for an alleged robbery. He is accused of targeting a commercial tricycle driver in the Panshekara district.

Ibrahim Garba Ahmad, the spokesperson for the task force, stated that the arrest followed reports that the suspect stole the driver’s daily income of N16,000 on New Panshekara Road. Commander Nura Salisu Sharada initiated the manhunt, which resulted in the swift capture of the suspect.

While detained, Sulaiman admitted to the incident and blamed his actions on substance abuse. He claimed that his drug use compromised his judgment, though he disputed the amount taken, asserting he only stole N2,000. The agency has handed the suspect over to the relevant authorities for continued investigation and legal proceedings.
