Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) figure in Osun State, believes the recent successful recovery of kidnapped students and teachers in Oyo State has restored faith in the government’s ability to manage security challenges. Speaking to reporters in Osogbo on Sunday, he noted that the mission proved Nigeria has the strength to defeat criminal violence and countered attempts to turn the incident into a political issue.
Oyintiloye lauded the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as the efforts of the Nigerian Army and security forces. He highlighted the bravery of the survivors and urged that they receive the required psychological rehabilitation. Furthermore, he emphasized that government at all levels must prioritize better intelligence and collaboration to secure the nation, noting that economic progress relies on a stable security environment.
While honoring the memory of those lost in the conflict, the former lawmaker challenged security forces to maintain this momentum to liberate others still held in regions like Borno. He also acknowledged the sacrifices of fallen military personnel during the operation. Finally, he called for international cooperation to choke off the supply chains of weapons and funding for criminal networks, reminding citizens that maintaining safety is a shared duty.
