Kwara ADC leader demands President Tinubu’s resignation due to insecurity

Prof. Gana Isa, an ADC leader, has called for the resignation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing the government’s failure to curb rising insecurity and violent crimes across the nation.

Prof. Gana Isa, a prominent African Democratic Congress (ADC) figure in Kwara State and former Nigerian envoy to Japan, has publicly requested that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu step down. Isa argued that the current administration has neglected its primary duty to ensure the safety of Nigerian citizens and their belongings.

Addressing the press in Ilorin, Isa stated that the government must step aside if it is unable to manage the nation’s prevailing security threats. He emphasized that the country is in desperate need of dedicated, patriotic leadership to neutralize the surge in kidnapping, banditry, and other violent activities.

Questioning the current security framework, Isa advocated for the federal government to bolster local security initiatives, specifically mentioning forest guards and vigilante groups. He noted that these community-based entities have shown resilience despite a lack of resources. Furthermore, Isa pointed out that criminal incidents seemed to drop during election cycles, suggesting a need for deeper public scrutiny into the state of national security.

In response, the Federal Government maintains that it is actively addressing these challenges through improved intelligence, inter-agency cooperation, and sustained military interventions.
