Footage of suspects linked to Oyo student abduction released

Authorities have released video footage of suspects captured during the mission to rescue schoolchildren and teachers who were held captive for nearly two months in Oyo.

New video evidence has surfaced showing several terrorists apprehended during the mission to liberate kidnapped students and teachers in Oyo. This breakthrough occurred after the victims spent over 50 days held against their will.

Reports confirm that the victims were successfully rescued on Tuesday. They were originally abducted on May 15, 2026. The ordeal was marked by tragedy, as one teacher was killed shortly after the initial kidnapping, creating significant distress regarding the safety of the remaining captives.

Upon their return, the survivors expressed gratitude toward the president for his efforts in ensuring their safe release. Governor Seyi Makinde stated that the conclusion of this 57-day hostage situation is a profound relief for both the affected families and the entire state.

The Nigerian Army explained that the recovery was the result of precise, high-stakes tactical operations conducted within the old Oyo National Park and various other regions.
