The Nasarawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially refuted rumors regarding the substitution of its candidates for the 2027 general elections. Dr. Aliyu Bello, the state party chairman, addressed these claims on Saturday in Lafia during the distribution of INEC Forms EC9 and EC13E to the party’s 24 House of Assembly candidates.
Dr. Bello labeled the reports of candidate changes as baseless and urged those spreading the news to present proof. He stated clearly that no individuals have been removed or replaced, dismissing the rumors as pure conjecture. According to the chairman, the official documents were handed out strictly to the candidates identified by the APC National Secretariat, and these same individuals will be registered on the INEC portal.
Regarding future electoral prospects, Dr. Bello voiced optimism about the party’s success in 2027, citing recent wins in off-cycle and by-elections. He announced plans for a reconciliation committee intended to unite dissatisfied members. Emphasizing his perspective on political authority, he noted that leadership is ultimately determined by God rather than human intervention.
