President Bola Tinubu has announced that the pupils and teachers kidnapped by Ansaru militants in Oyo State were freed without the payment of any ransom or the granting of any government concessions.
In a formal statement released on Friday, the President confirmed that the hostages were recovered safe and sound due to the successful intervention of security personnel. He expressed his gratitude for their safe return, viewing the outcome as a positive event for the country.
Tinubu offered high praise to the security teams, noting their bravery, discipline, and expert handling of the rescue mission. He stated that the nation celebrates the fact that the victims were brought home uninjured, stressing that the government did not yield to criminal demands.
Addressing the perpetrators directly, the President issued a stern warning. He promised that the Nigerian government would continue to hunt down those responsible for such acts of terror.
