Israeli Intelligence Alerts US to Alleged Iranian Assassination Plan Against Trump

Israel has informed the US of a specific, newly identified Iranian plot to assassinate Donald Trump, occurring as military tensions between the two nations continue to escalate.

American media outlets reported on Thursday that Israel has provided the United States with intelligence detailing a precise and newly identified Iranian scheme to kill former President Donald Trump. This revelation arises during a period of escalating military tensions between Tehran and Washington, raising fears of renewed large-scale hostilities.

Reports from CNN and The Wall Street Journal indicate that US officials have been tracking long-term security threats against Trump. The recent intelligence provided by Israel specifically highlights a fresh strategy for an attack. Tehran has consistently vowed revenge against Trump for the January 2020 drone strike that killed General Qassem Soleimani during his initial presidential term.

Speculation regarding these threats intensified after Trump opted to use an older Air Force One aircraft following his attendance at a NATO summit in Turkey. Although Trump suggested to reporters that he remains a primary target on Iranian hit lists, the US Secret Service clarified that the decision to switch to the older jet was a standard security precaution. Trump traveled on the older plane to Britain before moving to his newer aircraft for the final leg to Washington. The White House has largely directed inquiries about the threat to previous statements made by the former president.
