Patrick Vieira reveals preferred World Cup 2026 final opponent for France

Patrick Vieira shares his thoughts on the ideal final opponent for France, expressing a preference for Argentina over England as the World Cup moves toward its conclusion.

Former Arsenal star Patrick Vieira has identified the nation he hopes France avoids during the 2026 World Cup final. Following a 2-0 victory over Morocco on Thursday, France successfully advanced to the tournament’s semi-final round.

Les Bleus are now set to compete against the winner of the Spain versus Belgium matchup for a spot in the final. During post-match commentary on ITV, Vieira expressed his desire to steer clear of an England matchup, noting that he would much rather see France square off against Argentina instead.

Interestingly, it was the Argentinian squad that overcame the French side to secure the trophy during the previous World Cup tournament. Despite acknowledging that France has not yet locked in a spot in the final, Vieira remained firm regarding his preference for the upcoming potential showdown.
