Former Corps Member Paralyzed in Crash Issues Plea for Medical Assistance

A former NYSC member named Eniola has launched a public appeal for financial help to fund treatment for the paralysis she suffered following a 2021 road accident.

Eniola, a former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) participant, has publicly requested assistance following a traumatic road accident that left her paralyzed nearly five years ago. The incident occurred in 2021 as she was traveling home after being discharged from the Akwa Ibom State orientation camp due to health complications.

Sharing her experience through a viral TikTok video, Eniola explained that she was the sole survivor of the crash. The impact caused severe spinal cord damage, resulting in a total loss of sensation and mobility from the chest down. She noted that she has endured persistent bedsores and, following an amputation of one of her toes, has started experiencing painful sensations similar to electric shocks in her lower extremities.

Throughout her recovery process, Eniola claimed she has been repeatedly deceived by individuals posing as medical professionals who promised successful treatments for her condition. Despite these setbacks and the long-term physical toll, she views her survival as a second chance and remains hopeful for a full recovery.

She is now calling on the public to provide financial aid for her ongoing rehabilitation. Her primary goal is to regain the ability to walk, stating that even incremental progress would be a major achievement. Eniola expressed deep gratitude to those willing to support her journey toward healing.
