US Military Conducts New Airstrikes on 90 Iranian Targets

U.S. forces carried out a second wave of strikes against 90 Iranian military sites along the coast to protect commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States military has executed a fresh series of aerial attacks against Iran, focusing on approximately 90 military installations situated along the nation’s coastline. U.S. Central Command, known as CENTCOM, confirmed the operation in an official statement released via X on Thursday.

CENTCOM explained that these strikes are intended to weaken Iran’s capacity to jeopardize commercial shipping and civilian vessels moving through the Strait of Hormuz. The targeted infrastructure encompassed air defense systems, coastal surveillance gear, storage sites for missiles and drones, naval equipment, and logistical support facilities.

This campaign follows an operation from the prior evening. On Tuesday, American forces struck roughly 80 Iranian military targets, which included over 60 vessels associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Those earlier strikes were conducted as a reaction to Iran’s reported breach of a ceasefire after the nation allegedly targeted three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM officials stated that U.S. forces are currently maintaining a state of high readiness and are standing by to execute additional missions as ordered by the President of the United States.
