Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State was among the prominent figures present at the first State House Press Corps Presidential Dinner held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. During the ceremony, Governor Lawal performed the duty of adorning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the title of Grand Patron of the State House Press Corps.
This event was organized to foster better communication between the government and the media, honor outstanding journalism, and encourage networking in a relaxed environment. President Tinubu utilized the occasion to encourage reporters to maintain high standards of integrity and accuracy, highlighting the media’s vital role in supporting democratic processes and national development.
Furthermore, the president reiterated his administration’s dedication to protecting freedom of the press as mandated by the Constitution. Key officials in attendance included First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside several cabinet ministers and the Head of Service, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack.
