The Accord Alliance Movement, also recognized as the Movement for New Nigeria, issued a stern advisory on Wednesday regarding the 2027 presidential nomination for the Accord Party. The group stated that any efforts to undermine Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim’s candidacy would weaken internal democratic standards.
During the official launch of its platform in Abuja, the organization declared its support for Olawepo-Hashim while voicing strong opposition to the current government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The group cited failures in managing the economy, mounting insecurity, and the increased cost of living as evidence of the administration’s shortcomings.
Director-General Hon. Light Adoko claimed that internal party elements are trying to prevent Olawepo-Hashim from securing the ticket, despite him being the sole aspirant. Adoko emphasized that the movement is dedicated to upholding democratic integrity. He argued that the country requires a new leadership approach focused on accountability, unity, and inclusive growth, qualities he associates with Olawepo-Hashim.
Moving forward, the movement plans to begin nationwide grassroots mobilization to boost support for the party ahead of the next election cycle. Supporters remain committed to the vision of a rejuvenated Nigeria under Olawepo-Hashim’s potential leadership.
