Atiku’s Aide Calls for Gbajabiamila Investigation Amid PFIPC Fraud Claims

Atiku Abubakar’s aide, Demola Olarenwaju, is urging security agencies to investigate Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila over his alleged ties to the fraudulent Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council.

Demola Olarenwaju, an aide to former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has formally requested that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Department of State Services (DSS), and other law enforcement bodies interrogate Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu. The call comes in response to allegations involving the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), an entity led by Adeyemi Adeyemo.

Olarenwaju insists that authorities should handle Gbajabiamila with the same level of scrutiny applied to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. He further urged that the Chief of Staff be suspended from his duties to ensure the integrity of the ongoing investigation. While Gbajabiamila previously stated he was unaware of Adeyemo’s identity when fake appointment letters surfaced in 2025—prompting legal charges against Adeyemo for forgery and impersonation—Olarenwaju argues that a fair probe is impossible while Gbajabiamila remains in office.

Criticizing President Tinubu’s handling of the situation, Olarenwaju claimed that the lack of immediate action against the Chief of Staff suggests a deeper level of culpability. He highlighted that agencies such as the EFCC and DSS appear hesitant to proceed without direct presidential authorization. Consequently, he maintains that the Chief of Staff must step aside to allow for an impartial inquiry.
