Human rights advocate Dickson Iroegbu has warned that excluding the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) from the 2027 general election ballot could trigger widespread revolution and chaos. Speaking during an interview on Seun Okinbaloye’s Mic-On podcast, Iroegbu addressed the recent Federal High Court decision in Lokoja that reversed an earlier order requiring the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the party.
Iroegbu cautioned INEC against underestimating the public, noting that citizens are prepared to maintain strict vigilance during the next electoral cycle. He claimed that the political establishment, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu, fears the influence of potential NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Asserting that the current administration is overrated, Iroegbu expressed confidence that voters will closely monitor the 2027 results. He stated that the electorate is resolved to prevent further deception, warning that failure to challenge the APC’s dominance could jeopardize the country’s future.
