Nigerian police officers have safely recovered a kidnapped woman and her two-year-old child from a woodland location in Kwara State. CSP Anietie Iniedu, the Force Public Relations Officer, announced that the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team executed a targeted mission on Saturday near Bode Sadu after receiving reliable information.
During the raid, the abductors initiated gunfire, forcing a confrontation that caused the suspects to flee into the dense forest. Once the area was secured, officers located 43-year-old Adijat Kuburat and her young son, Abdul Malik Hamzat, in the hideout. Both victims were taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation. Meanwhile, authorities are pursuing the suspects and working to dismantle their organization.
Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu commended the team for their efficiency and courage. The IGP reiterated that the force remains committed to neutralizing kidnapping networks and violent crime through proactive intelligence and communal cooperation.
