Law enforcement officials in Nigeria have successfully recovered a 43-year-old woman and her toddler from a remote forest location in Kwara State. The rescue occurred during a specialized mission led by the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) working alongside local security allies.
The mission was prompted by reliable reports indicating the victims were being kept against their will in the Bode Sadu forest. CSP Aniete Okokon Iniedu, representing the police, confirmed that officers faced gunfire from the captors upon arrival. The police returned fire, forcing the criminals to retreat into the dense woods.
Following the clash, authorities located 43-year-old Adijat Kuburat and her young son, Abdul Malik Hamzat. Both have since been admitted to a hospital for medical evaluation. Police are currently working to track down the escaped kidnappers and dismantle their local operation. Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu praised the responders for their tactical execution and reiterated the force’s promise to aggressively combat violent crime across the nation.
