The Ekiti State Police Command has successfully secured the release of individuals kidnapped during an assault on the Christ Apostolic Church in Eda-Oniyo, located in the Ilejemeje Local Government Area, on April 28, 2026. Official details released by police spokesperson SP Sunday Abutu confirmed that one captive unfortunately lost their life while in custody.
The recovery operation involved a collaborative effort between the Nigeria Police, military personnel, the Amotekun Corps, local hunters, and state authorities. Following their release, the victims were transported to a medical facility for urgent care and health evaluations.
