Isaac Fayose, the sibling of ex-Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose, is calling for an official investigation into Femi Gbajabiamila, the President’s Chief of Staff, regarding serious bribery claims. In a video shared on social media, Fayose expressed disbelief that a person could allegedly establish a government agency independently without oversight.
The controversy stems from accusations made by Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to lead the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. Adeyemi alleges that Gbajabiamila accepted a payment of N400 million via an intermediary and requested another N200 million for an appointment. While the Presidency has officially denied these claims, asserting that Gbajabiamila lacks the authority to issue such appointments, Fayose remains critical of the government’s response.
Fayose questioned the integrity of the administration, pointing to the lack of action from anti-graft and security departments. He argued that the explanation provided by the government was insufficient and urged a thorough examination of the situation, noting that reports regarding the sale of government parastatals have circulated for some time.
