Military units secure Zamfara supply road following explosive hazard clearance

Military personnel have successfully cleared explosives from the Bagega–Anka road in Zamfara State, restoring safe passage for motorists and security forces.

Soldiers from the 1 Brigade have officially reopened the Bagega–Anka supply route in Zamfara State after completing an extensive search for explosives. This operation successfully restored transport access across the previously restricted road.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the mission took place around 9:30 a.m. on July 2. The brigade collaborated with a Quick Response Force and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team to inspect the area within the Anka Local Government Area. Their goal was to identify and dismantle any improvised explosive devices that posed a risk to public safety.

Following a thorough assessment, officials declared the route safe for vehicles. During the mission, the team also recovered a Nigeria Police Counter-Terrorism vehicle that had previously been damaged by an explosive device in the same location. The entire clearance operation concluded without any injuries to the military personnel involved. This effort is part of a larger initiative to combat insurgency and banditry, ensuring safer transit for civilians and security forces in the region.
