Adeyemi Addresses PFIPC Scandal While Claiming Health Issues

Adeyemi Matthew, who claims to lead the unrecognized PFIPC, has responded to presidency denials regarding his agency and his bribery allegations against Femi Gbajabiamila while citing health concerns.

Adeyemi Matthew, the individual who identifies as the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has publicly responded following the government’s denial of his organization’s legitimacy. This follows accusations he leveled against Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, alleging that the official participated in an appointment-for-cash scheme. Adeyemi claimed that Gbajabiamila requested N27.4 billion from the agency’s starting funds and accepted N400 million through intermediaries to facilitate his appointment.

The presidency formally countered these allegations on Wednesday via a statement from Bayo Onanuga, asserting that neither the individual nor the organization he represents is recognized by the state. During a Thursday interview with Channels TV, Adeyemi maintained that his appointment was legitimate and documented. He declined to provide specific evidence, noting that the case is currently under judicial review. Regarding his current status, Adeyemi stated that he is currently managing a medical condition and focusing on his recovery.
