Paul Ibe disputes Shehu Sani’s take on ADC court ruling

Atiku Abubakar’s aide, Paul Ibe, has dismissed Shehu Sani’s positive comments regarding a recent ADC leadership court ruling, citing concerns over judicial impartiality.

Paul Ibe, media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has voiced strong opposition to Shehu Sani’s recent remarks regarding a Federal High Court decision concerning the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Sani had interpreted the court’s affirmation of the David Mark-led leadership as evidence that the judiciary remains fair and that there is no intention to establish a one-party state.

Ibe countered this perspective on the social media platform X, firmly rejecting Sani’s assessment. He suggested that Sani’s confidence in the judiciary ignores the fact that certain members of the bench were instrumental in securing President Bola Tinubu’s electoral mandate. Ibe further quipped that some political figures might benefit from judicial guidance on political maneuvering.

The controversy stems from a ruling by Justice Musa Liman, who dismissed a challenge to the ADC leadership brought by Leke Abejide. The court maintained that the party’s internal structural disputes are not justiciable. The ruling confirmed the roles of David Mark as National Chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary.
