A tragic road accident in Imo State has resulted in the deaths of two police officers. The incident occurred on June 29 along the Amakalu–Umuelemma Road in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, involving seven personnel on official duty.
DSP Henry Okoye, the spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, confirmed the fatalities on Thursday. While two officers passed away while undergoing medical care, the remaining five operatives are currently hospitalized.
State Police Commissioner Audu Bosso has initiated a formal investigation into the crash. He expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and ordered that full medical and welfare support be provided to the surviving officers to ensure their recovery. The Command maintains that the well-being of its staff remains a top priority.
