The NANS Zone B South-South leadership, directed by Comrade Victor Ogechukwu Anthony, has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Bayelsa State Government, the Nigerian Police, and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). They are demanding the immediate identification and arrest of those who murdered Comrade Stanley Okebaram.
Okebaram, who previously served as the Students Union President at the Federal Polytechnic in Nekede, was completing his mandatory service in Bassambiri, Nembe, Bayelsa State, when he was killed. His body was found dumped near a river, causing significant distress throughout the student community.
Anthony stated that the killing is a barbaric act that highlights failing security for corps members. He urged the state government and law enforcement to launch an unbiased investigation into the death. NANS expects tangible progress in apprehending the culprits within the week.
The student body warned that if justice is not served within the seven-day period, they will organize widespread protests throughout the South-South region. They have also encouraged the public and local residents in Nembe to assist authorities in providing any details that might lead to the arrest of the killers.
