Jacob Kudu, a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Nasarawa Eggon East, asserts that former Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Abubakar Adamu is poised to secure the Nasarawa governorship in 2027. Speaking in Nasarawa Eggon, Kudu emphasized that Adamu, who is running on the Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform, possesses the necessary background and local backing to succeed.
The lawmaker praised the former police chief for his extensive empowerment initiatives throughout the state’s 13 local government areas. Kudu expressed strong confidence in Adamu’s candidacy, suggesting that his influence among voters makes his victory highly probable. Furthermore, Kudu announced his intention to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the SDP, citing unresolved grievances regarding his previous primary election experiences.
Addressing his political influence, Kudu pointed to his recent support for Labaran Maku, the Labour Party senatorial candidate, during the recent bye-election as proof of his local strength. He alleged that the bye-election was marred by irregularities. Looking ahead, Kudu encouraged his constituents to rally behind the SDP and the former IGP, promising to continue his focus on legislative representation and local development projects, including improvements in healthcare, education, and water access.
