England supporters aiming to witness the World Cup round-of-16 match against Mexico face steep costs, with tickets on the official Fifa resale platform starting at approximately £2,600. The Three Lions secured this fixture at the Estadio Azteca following a 2-1 win over DR Congo.
Demand is exceptionally high for games in Mexico City, and with the initial allocation of 4,000 tickets for the England Supporters’ Travel Club fully distributed during January’s ballot, secondary marketplaces remain the only option for fans. Fifa is not releasing further tickets for the match, which takes place at 01:00 BST on Monday.
As of recently, only a few hundred tickets were available on the resale site, with prices inflating significantly above face value. A supporter value ticket, originally priced at £224, is currently listed for a total of £2,622 after accounting for mandatory Fifa fees. Other categories show even more extreme markups, with some tickets reaching over 30 times their original cost. While independent sites like SeatGeek also host listings, they similarly feature high prices, often exceeding £2,900. Fortunately for traveling fans, hotel accommodations in Mexico City remain relatively affordable, with many options available for under £80 for a two-night stay.
