Kenyan Government Warns Those with Multiple Romantic Partners of Monkeypox Risk

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has issued a public health alert, identifying groups at high risk of contracting Mpox. According to the ministry, healthcare workers, individuals who have close contact with confirmed cases, and those with multiple romantic partners are particularly vulnerable to the virus.

In its alert, the MOH emphasized the importance of taking precautions to prevent the spread of Mpox, urging both the general public and essential service providers to be vigilant.

“Healthcare workers, persons in close contact with confirmed cases, and those with multiple sexual partners have a higher chance of getting infected,” the ministry’s warning stated.

The Ministry of Health continues to encourage everyone, especially those in the identified high-risk categories, to take the necessary steps to protect themselves from Mpox and reduce the risk of transmission.
