A violent raid by suspected armed herders in the Sai community of Katsina-Ala, Benue State, has left several people feared dead. The incident, which took place on Tuesday, caused widespread injuries and triggered a mass exodus of local families fleeing for safety.
Reports from security analyst Zagazola Makama indicate that the assailants arrived in significant numbers, discharging firearms randomly before burning numerous residential buildings. This aggression created chaos, driving villagers to seek refuge in the surrounding bush.
In response to distress signals, military and security forces were sent to the location to push back the invaders and stabilize the area. Injured individuals have been transported to local medical facilities for urgent care, while search parties are actively looking for missing persons. The attack resulted in significant property damage and widespread displacement.
