Michael Olise Leads 2026 World Cup Assists Rankings

Michael Olise has become the top playmaker at the 2026 World Cup after providing two assists in France’s win over Sweden, setting a record for the most assists in a single tournament since 1994.

France winger Michael Olise has climbed to the peak of the 2026 FIFA World Cup assist leaderboard following a standout performance in the Round of 32 against Sweden. During France’s 3-0 triumph at the New York/New Jersey Stadium on June 30, 2026, Olise contributed two assists to help Didier Deschamps’ team secure their spot in the Round of 16 against Paraguay.

With these contributions, the Bayern Munich player now holds a total of five assists in the tournament. This achievement marks the highest assist count for a single player in a World Cup campaign since 1994. Although Olise has yet to score himself—notably hitting the post with a bicycle kick during the first half—his playmaking has been central to the French side’s success.

While Olise dominated the passing charts, teammate Kylian Mbappe grabbed the spotlight by scoring twice against Sweden, moving him level with Lionel Messi in the current Golden Boot standings.
