Nigerian DisCos Report N203.6 Billion Revenue for April

NERC reports that Nigerian electricity distribution companies collected N203.61 billion in April 2026, achieving a collection efficiency of 80.66 percent.

Data from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) indicates that electricity distribution companies across the country brought in N203.61 billion from their customers in April 2026. This figure was derived from a total billing of N252.43 billion, reflecting a collection efficiency of 80.66 percent, which marks a 1.07 percentage point improvement over March.

The NERC report further specified that these companies were supplied with electricity valued at N302.96 billion. While billing efficiency reached 83.32 percent, this represented a marginal dip of 0.57 percentage points compared to the prior month. Overall, the industry achieved a revenue recovery efficiency rate of 82.11 percent, collecting an average of N102.13 per kilowatt-hour versus the approved tariff of N124.39/kWh.

Performance varied among individual providers. Eko DisCo led the sector with a recovery efficiency of 102.09 percent, followed by Abuja DisCo at 89.77 percent and Ikeja DisCo at 88.89 percent.
