The Labour Party has officially secured the access code from the Independent National Electoral Commission to begin submitting candidate information for the 2027 general elections. Ken Asogwa, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, verified the receipt of these credentials during a phone interview on Tuesday in Abuja.
Asogwa stated that the national chairman confirmed the codes were issued on Monday. Previously, the Labour Party and other organizations had not confirmed receiving their access, leading to concerns from groups involved in internal leadership conflicts who feared the codes might be mishandled. Sources indicated that the electoral commission had prioritized adhering to strict regulatory protocols, including the review of court rulings, before distributing the access credentials. The electoral body has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the current status of the distribution.
