The pan-Yoruba group Afenifere has officially recognized Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for their firm handling of kidnapping and banditry within their borders. The organization extended its appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu and state police commissioners Bode Ojajuni and Tijani Olaiwola Fatai for their synchronized strategy in securing the Ogbere-Sagamu-Ore route.

In a formal communication authored by National Organising Secretary Abagun Kole Omololu on behalf of leader Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, the group highlighted the value of the Inspector-General’s intelligence-led policing. The document stated that the dedication shown by the two governors has empowered security agencies to carry out their duties more effectively, resulting in a noticeable improvement in public trust.

Afenifere specifically honored CP Ojajuni for his deep familiarity with the Ogbere-Sagamu-Ore corridor and commended CP Fatai for providing the necessary logistical support and specialized tools that ensured the operation’s success. This collaborative effort recently resulted in the swift rescue of five kidnapping victims and the neutralization of several criminals.

Concluding their statement, the group issued a warning to criminal elements, declaring that the region will continue to be a difficult territory for those intending to commit violence. They reiterated that their mission remains to maintain peace, noting that any threats to the prosperity of the region will be met with the full force of the law.
