Liverpool’s interest in Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande has hit a snag, as the young talent appears to prefer a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. Reports from the BBC suggest the 19-year-old RB Leipzig star is leaning toward the French giants, who are preparing to accelerate discussions with the Bundesliga side soon.
Previously, Liverpool saw an initial offer of 69 million pounds plus 17 million in potential add-ons turned down. Leipzig reportedly holds a valuation closer to 129 million pounds for the player they acquired last year from Leganes on a long-term contract. The German club feels no immediate pressure to release Diomande and is willing to propose a salary increase to retain him for another season.
PSG’s effort is currently spearheaded by Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos, and Luis Enrique as they look to build upon their recent Champions League and Ligue 1 successes. The Parisian club might generate funds by offloading players such as Goncalo Ramos, who is linked to AC Milan, as well as Lee Kang-in and Randal Kolo Muani.
Diomande has become a top prospect following his breakout season in Germany and his contributions to the Ivory Coast squad during the 2026 World Cup. Meanwhile, Liverpool continue their squad overhaul under new head coach Andoni Iraola. While they recently secured Victor Munoz for 34.5 million pounds, they remain linked to PSG’s Bradley Barcola, though the French club is working to extend his current deal.
