Burnley’s search for a new manager continues following Rob Edwards’ decision to decline their offer. Edwards, who recently departed as Wolves head coach, was identified as a key candidate for the vacancy at Turf Moor.
The club had previously targeted Craig Bellamy to succeed Scott Parker, but those plans collapsed when Bellamy decided to remain with the Wales national team. As a result, Burnley is still without a permanent manager two months after Parker left the club following their relegation from the Premier League.
The squad is scheduled to begin pre-season fitness evaluations this Monday ahead of a planned trip to the United States for an upcoming tour. Their first match of that series is set for July 11 against FC Cincinnati. Edwards, previously the manager of Forest Green, Watford, and Luton, had been viewed as a primary option for the Clarets before opting against the move.
