Security forces in Plateau State successfully thwarted an intrusion attempt at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies on Monday morning, with no injuries or operational disruptions reported.

Security personnel successfully stopped an infiltration attempt at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) located in Kuru, Jos South, Plateau State. The event took place early Monday morning around 1:30 a.m. after guards noticed irregular activity near the premises.

The responders acted quickly to protect the site, forcing the unidentified individuals to retreat into the surrounding vegetation before they could enter the grounds. There were no injuries reported, and the institute remains fully operational.

Requests for official statements from the Plateau State Police, Operation Enduring Peace, and NIPSS management did not receive a response. This security alert arrives less than 14 days after the federal government ordered an urgent reinforcement of protection for major national assets.

Vice President Kashim Shettima previously visited the site, confirming that President Bola Tinubu ordered updated surveillance, tighter access controls, and a larger guard presence at the location. The Vice President also pledged that perpetrators of prior security lapses would face legal consequences.
