Dickson Predicts Landslide Defeat for Tinubu and APC in 2027

Senator Seriake Dickson predicts that the APC will lose the 2027 election due to public dissatisfaction, while confirming the NDC is open to opposition alliances.

Senator Seriake Dickson, the national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), stated that President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) would face a major loss in the 2027 polls if the process remains transparent. During an appearance on Channels Television, the former Bayelsa governor argued that current public frustration with the administration will drive this electoral outcome.

Dickson emphasized the need for a truly democratic environment where all political groups can participate without hindrance. He noted that the only way to challenge the ruling party is through an open and fair electoral contest. Regarding opposition strategy, the senator mentioned that the NDC is ready to engage in talks with other parties to form potential alliances.

While he hopes any future coalition will support the NDC’s candidates, he clarified that it is premature to determine the success of such negotiations. He stated that the party remains open to various political options as the 2027 cycle approaches.

Furthermore, Dickson addressed legal attempts to deregister the NDC, calling these challenges baseless and politically driven. He insisted that the party met every legal requirement for registration and maintains full confidence in the judicial process. He also defended the party’s use of the peace symbol as its logo, asserting that it is a universally recognized emblem that no single entity can exclusively claim.
