Benue Police Apprehend 10 Individuals Regarding MACBAN Chairman Murder

Ten suspects have been detained by Benue State Police regarding the murder of the MACBAN chairman, Ardo Risku Mohammed, and Yakubu Isa following a targeted operation in Otukpo.

The Benue State Police Command has taken 10 individuals into custody for their suspected involvement in the murders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Benue State Chairman, Ardo Risku Mohammed, and his companion, Yakubu Isa.

Acting on detailed intelligence, tactical units conducted a successful operation on June 27, 2026, in the Otukpo Local Government Area. DSP Udeme Edet, the Police Public Relations Officer, verified that this sweep is a major development in the case.

The individuals taken into custody are Titus Thyodenda (25), Utibe Sam (20), Owoicho Ameh (18), Sunday Useni (21), Sunday Ogbanje (46), Daniel Raphael (23), Adokole John (24), Samuel Ogazi (32), Agbo Daniel (25), and Onazi James (30).

Commissioner of Police Cletus Nwadiogbu lauded the tactical and investigative teams for their efficiency. He emphasized that the search for other accomplices continues, promising that everyone involved in the incident will face the full weight of the legal system.

Nwadiogbu urged the public to stay composed and provide useful information to aid the police. He restated the Command’s resolve to safeguard citizens and uphold order throughout the state.

The victims were attacked and killed by gunmen at Okudu in Otukpo LGA last Friday while traveling back from a peace session organized by the Divisional Police Officer in Idekpa, Ohimini LGA.
