Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, has dismissed accusations connecting his party and its candidate, Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, to recent political violence. Speaking in Osogbo, the former lawmaker clarified that neither the party nor its nominee is associated with groups or individuals inciting trouble while using the APC label.
Oyintiloye highlighted that the APC operates under the Omoluabi philosophy, which promotes integrity, discipline, and respect for human life. He strongly condemned the recent killings, characterizing the perpetrators as individuals lacking moral clarity. He insisted that no political goal justifies the shedding of blood and urged those responsible to stop their activities immediately.
Emphasizing the party’s dedication to peaceful conduct, Oyintiloye stated that the APC does not rely on intimidation to secure victory in the upcoming August 15 governorship election. He asserted that the organization remains focused on democratic values and the rule of law. Furthermore, the party has officially distanced itself from anyone acting violently in its name, noting that such behavior contradicts their commitment to civic responsibility.
The APC official encouraged party supporters, security forces, and the public to maintain order and cooperate with investigations. He also extended his condolences to the families of victims impacted by the ongoing violence. Meanwhile, the state police command has vowed to ensure public safety and identify those responsible for the recent unrest.
