The Governing Council at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has terminated the employment of the Director of Information and Communication Technology, Isah Yusuf Tsafe. Official reports confirm he was found guilty of severe misconduct, professional negligence, and an inability to track university equipment under his control.
Jamilu Magaji, the university’s spokesperson, stated that the firing followed formal disciplinary investigations that verified the charges against Tsafe. In a concurrent action, the council demoted another ICT staff member, Abdullahi Mohammed Adamu, by one rank and prohibited him from any promotions for the upcoming five years.
Adamu faced disciplinary action for involving himself in university admissions processes despite having no official role in that department. He was also accused of conducting illicit financial dealings with the parents of prospective students. The administration has been instructed to reclaim or seek financial restitution for all missing university assets connected to these incidents. The university leadership emphasized that these measures are intended to maintain high professional standards and institutional integrity.
