Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has pledged that his state will secure a significant number of votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The governor communicated this commitment during a meeting with government officials held at the Coronation Hall within the Kano Government House.
A spokesperson for the governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, released a statement confirming that Kano intends to spearhead efforts to ensure a victory for the President. Governor Yusuf emphasized that the state remains firm in its support for the current administration, stating that re-electing the President is a shared duty among all party members.
To bolster party unity, the governor ordered all political appointees who have not yet registered with the APC to complete their registration immediately. He highlighted the necessity for all officials to align with the party to prepare for future electoral contests, including gubernatorial and legislative races. In a gesture of appreciation, the governor granted land plots and a payment of N100,000 to over 300 political aides.
Ismail Falgore, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, noted that the party is actively promoting the President’s accomplishments, while Kano APC Chairman Umar Haruna Doguwa stated that the organization is fully prepared for upcoming political challenges, specifically mentioning the Kwankwasiyya movement as a primary competitor.
