Law enforcement authorities have initiated an extensive probe into the fatal shooting of Alhaji Risku Mohammed, the Benue State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), and his associate, Yakubu Isa. The two men were targeted by unidentified attackers.
Police Commissioner Cletus Nwadiogbu announced the investigation via a statement released Saturday in Makurdi by spokesperson DSP Udeme Edet. The victims were reportedly ambushed on the Okwudu-Ogoli Road in Otukpo while traveling home from a security gathering.
Commissioner Nwadiogbu denounced the violence, labeling it a criminal act that threatens the ongoing peace efforts within Benue State. He conveyed his sympathies to the mourning families and confirmed that elite intelligence teams are now working to locate and capture the suspects.
