INEC Denies Rumors Regarding Delta Voter Registration Suspension

INEC has debunked rumors of a suspension in the voter registration exercise for the Akwukwu Igbo area of Delta State, confirming that operations are following a set schedule.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially refuted an online report claiming the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process in the Akwukwu Igbo area of Delta State was halted due to equipment failure. Nseabasi Udom, the commission’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity, characterized the circulating claims as inaccurate and unauthorized.

INEC clarified that voter registration is proceeding according to its established rotation plan. Following a successful operation in Ibusa on Thursday, the commission confirmed that the Akwukwu Igbo center is scheduled to operate from July 6 through July 10. Officials encouraged local residents to ignore unverified social media reports and seek information exclusively through official commission channels. Eligible citizens are encouraged to continue their registration efforts as planned, as the agency maintains its dedication to an accessible and transparent electoral process for all residents.
