England international Eberechi Eze has addressed recent rumors involving a Ghanaian spiritualist who claimed to have cursed Three Lions captain Harry Kane at the 2026 World Cup. The speculation arose after Kane failed to score during England’s draw with Ghana.
Nana Kwaku Bonsam, a self-styled spiritualist, asserted before the match that he had placed a hex on Kane to diminish his impact. This individual previously gained notoriety for claiming he caused Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2014 knee injury. Kane indeed struggled to find the net during the match held in Foxborough.
When questioned about whether the squad had discussed the alleged curse, the 27-year-old Eze laughed, challenging the reporter on the legitimacy of such claims. He subsequently pivoted away from the conversation, stating he held no interest in the subject.
The story gained significant attention because Kane arrived in the tournament chasing Gary Lineker’s record of 10 goals in World Cup play. While Kane has equaled that total, his inability to score against Ghana fueled the supernatural theory. Bonsam has since claimed he has revoked the alleged spell.
