Gwent Police have officially charged a 14-year-old boy with murder following the discovery of a female body during the search for a missing teenager in south Wales. The youth, who resides in the Blaenau Gwent region and remains anonymous due to legal restrictions, is currently in custody and scheduled to appear at Newport Magistrates Court this Friday.
Authorities took the boy into custody following the discovery of the remains in the Duffryn Park area of Blaina on Monday. While formal identification is pending, investigators believe the body belongs to 14-year-old Lilly, who had previously been reported as a missing person.
Detective Chief Inspector Steven Thomas issued a public statement expressing condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this period of grief. The investigation remains active as officials work to conclude their inquiries.
